Every weekday, HARPS Day Service opens as a Drop in Centre
offering service users practical support and advice to tackle issues
relating to homelessness. The Centre offers a supportive environment
with helpful staff that can assist with benefit advice, accommodation,
tenancy support, health advice, and access to other agencies.
The Accommodation Officer advises an average of 50 people a week
on housing issues. This includes assisting service users to attain
temporary and permanent accommodation.
The Outreach Worker is employed to help the young and vulnerable
clients, and the CATS team enable street homeless to regain
their lives. Our Leapfrog Project assists families who are living
with the stress of temporary accommodation offering a safe environment
for parents and children. The comprehensive service includes crèche,
after schools club, drop in sessions and holiday clubs-all of which
are free of charge.
The Centre also offers a hot meal each weekday, shower and laundry
facilities, access to furniture, bedding, clothing, household items,
toiletries, chiropodist, doctor, Health Visitor, and a CPN.
