Contact & Assessment
Responsible
for supporting vulnerable long term rough sleepers (anyone who has
spent 3 months or more sleeping on the streets) who are homeless.
They are encouraged to meet with our Support/Development
Co-ordinator for a full needs assessment and the development on a
support plan which can help them to rebuild their lives and help
them find accommodation.
Floating Support
Provides support for the long term rough sleepers who have been
accommodated in helping them to maintain their tenancies and move
onto independent living. The type of support offered includes help
with social and living skills, meaningful occupation (which ranges
from trips to interesting places and sources of entertainment, to
work based activities like gardening and painting and decorating),
arranging activities like fishing and football, encouraging clients
to find suitable training courses and employment and provide help
with gaining the correct benefits. This support is also given to
clients who are accommodated in the two HARP hostels to help them
prepare for moving into their own accommodation.
Ceylon Road Hostel
A six room
hostel that provides rehabilitation accommodation for clients who
are undergoing treatment for drug addiction. The hostel is run in
partnership with Southend DAT and Southend Borough Council and
offers the residents the full range of CAT services which are
available to all our clients. Additional support is provided by the
hostel staff during the hours when Floating Support is not
available.
